Dual gas caps

Hi, I know you guys will laugh, please real answers only. Just bought a used 2021 roadking. What is the proper way to fill the dual gas caps. Left first then right? Thanks in advance.

You can only fill from the right side of the tank, the left side is the fuel gauge and removing it may cost you.

And on bikes that both caps are functional, fill from the right side. It sits higher when the bike is leaned on the jiffy stand.

I'm not familiar with the M8s but my old FXR has a crossover tube that drains the right tank to the left tank when the bike is on the kickstand. It's a 1/4" tube so the flow is very slow. Filling the right tank as previously mentioned is the way to go but I usually dawdle during the fill to give the level in the left tank time to equalize.

I believe the newer Harleys have a single tank and I thought all the baggers had a single fill cap in the center of the console. I'm envious because replacing the fuel filter on that design is a snap.

As stated, don't try to open the left filler cap where there is a fuel level gauge. It's $150 if you do
