I have an 08 Deluxe and I've heard a rubbing or rattling sound coming from the rear wheel on the drive belt side since I got it. I took it back to the dealer (warranty) and had them look into it. They tightened the belt (1st trip), then loosened the belt (2nd tri), then the third trip tightened it again. No luck. Well I took one last shot with the dealer. One of the crusty old dudes working in the shop said he had heard that the Motor Company was having problems with the factory lube on the belts for the the later models. He put some belt dressing on a few spots on the belt - PROBLEM GONE! So if anyone is having this rubbing or rattling sound coming from the rear axle area, try the belt dressing. Took a 250 mile ride today, put the dressing on before I left, no sounds until right at the end of the ride. So I plan on putting a small amount of dressing on a couple of spots on the belt whenever I hear the sound again. Anyone else had this problem? If so, give this belt dressing a try.
