I am definitely happy it happened at home I am just at a loss for why it happened. I wonder could it happen again in the future. Bike wasn't exposed to dirt or rocks so I'm sure it wasn't anything wedged in there. Bike didn't roll at all, belt just snapped as soon as I started to leave the clutch out.

That is the problem.. WHO knows what it has been thru...
If you get another and Handle it,,,,,,,,, Be careful IF you look at it. Twisting inside out OR flexing a belt WRONGLY will damage it...
THAT is how critical they are.. Once BENT and the TOUGH fibers pull or bend Differently the belt is ON It's way out..
I luckly had that happen on my sportster,,,,Rushing home and into the garage to beat a Monsoon, the next day rolling it out ,,,,NO BELT....
No clue was given...
TOO tight is a big problem so when you pay 250$ for a new belt and another 350$ OR MORE to get it installed....ASK,,,, Not too tight (like most want it) Tell them to use OLD SCHOOL TENSION....:lolrolling
