different models/parts confusion

This may seem like a left feilded question so I'll go ahead and ask it.
I have the 1989 FLHTP touring model and there's a few things I will need to change like wheel bearings and seals, speedo drive, stereo mostly just small stuff and also I will be redoing the motor, but to the main question which is will all FLH parts for ordering purposes from the same year or close to 1989 fit on my model for the 1989 FLHTP? A very good example is the speedo drive, I would think a 16" front wheel on the FLH models would use the same gear ratio but maybe a bit differnt spacing.
Also is there a site available to find the OEM part numbers for refernce?

As far as I know, the only place to get OEM parts number is the Harley parts manual. Of course, you have to pay for it.

Just stop by your dealer and ask. There are too many variations to just be able to say they are compatible from year to year and model to model. You may be able to use the same wheel but not the same speedo. You will have to ask for each different part for compatability.
