Didn't know how to answer

My duughter asked me a question last night and I didn't have an answer for her. She asked me what the purpose of the run stop switch was since you can just turn the bike off with the ignition switch. I told her I would have to find out for her.

It takes the load off the ignition switch so there is less arcing to the contact points. also for a quick kill if needed while riding.

HD owner manual tell you to use that, instead of the igniton switch.
