crank shaft position sensor

2000 roadking was running poorly, had diagnostic codes 11 and 24, replaced tps and coil, bike runs well but get engine light sometimes, now have code 41 for crankshaft position sensor, can I replace sensor and splice wires rather than go through the hassle as described in the manual

You might want to do the csp and the cam position sensor. When I did mine I did the whole job and fished the old wires out and pulled both wires up.

On my 2000 FXDS I found it easier to re-route the long wires under tank on the cps and not spliced...

I have been told that there is no harm in splicing but I shunned that idea,,,, But a Fact, the newer cps come with connectors so it is easier to replace cps, connecting together right by the harness.
