check engine lite.

Hey, Maybe some one can help. My check engine lite comes on for 5 seconds AFTER I start my bike and then goes out. Is this a cause for concern since it does not stay on? Should I continue to ride? Could this be related to being caught in torrential down pours recently? I'm gonna try to pull a code if one is stored>

Following the 00-03 Codes and Activation Link info...it says, turn ignition/light key switch to IGNITION. Does the handlebar engine stop/run switch need to be on during this test ??

I would think so but maybe someone with more experience with the Magnetti Morelli ECM will chime in. On the later Delphi you do but not sure on pre-Delphi.

yes, the run switch has to be on during the test.

Just pulled a code . Yes, the handle bar engine stop/ run switch DOES have to be on. Code 99. So I guess it's password ( security) related. Thanks to all who helped !!!
