All, I have removed the cam cover for tensioner inspection, do I need to use any type of thread compound on the 10 allen bolts when reinstalling them?

Thanks
Bill

Your not planning to do anything there soon, I find a dot of Blue lock-tight does the trick... Just a little on the clean dry thread end of bolt and it will hold..

i have gone without the lock-tight here and I have Never had a bolt come loose.
Just make sure you torque properly and use a torque wrench..

I usually stay to lighter side of the torque called out for on the outside cover..I use 125 inch lbs. I also have reused the gasket 4 time now it will be #5.. NO leaks

150 inch lbs on the Cam-plate and only 40 inch lbs on the oil pump.

Bill, as an alternative you can use antisieze on the bolts. It will fill in the threads and make removal easier next time, remember that lubricated threads are torqued to a different value:s
