Bikelift strap down

I just bought a bikelift and I'm looking for some tips on strapping the bike down. I've got a 96 Lowrider and am wondering about the best strap placement and any other tips.

When I am working on the tires and wheels I strap a cement block to the opposite tire that I am working on, and lower the block until it touchs the floor. That way I figure it should keep the bike from going off balance.

If I am doing anything major I have a pair of kinedyne soft straps that I attach to the frame and ratchet to the lift.other then that I don't tie it down

I went down to the Harley shop and they gave me several of the HD straps that are used for shipping. They are awesome and then I cut to length and strap threw the frame. All works.
