I'm looking into an overnight camping trip on the bikes with my father-in-law. Anyone ever camped at Big Talbot Island? If so, how was it? (i.e. camp sites, roads, etc..). Thinking of taking the ferry over from Mayport (never done that before) and maybe stopping for lunch at Singleton's right in Mayport as well (anyone been there?).

I've been to alot of the state parks in central/east FL, but not north of St. Augustine.

    Thanks in advance.

I took the Mayport ferry ride last year. It is cheap and only takes about 15-20 minutes from cast off to tie up. They park bikes on the front so it's quick off. No public restrooms on board. The coastal trip north from the ferry is SPECTACULAR.:small3d026:

    Thanks everyone for the info.

The ferry is something I want to do.

I have not had time to plan a camping trip.. work is nuts as we were bought out by another company and 60% of my team was laid off. So doing the same work with 40% of the staff.

Ride safe and have fun out there!
