battery terminal

Hi i have lost one of the square blocks that goes inside the terminal which the screw screws into and cant find them anywhere can any1 help please?

do they supply them in general diy stores?

They are usually metric thread. Take your bolt with you to Lowes/HomeDepot/Ace and match it up. The ones that come with batteries are made of a non corrosive metal, but you can get by with any metal, just coat it with hi temp grease, or battery terminal spray. Or you could go to Walmart and ask the guy in auto dept. if he has any damaged/returns/cores etc. that have the hardware in them.

Batteries Plus, is a local battery retailer found in many shopping centers here on the west coast. I remember losing one of those threaded retainers, and the tech there showed me his "spare parts" drawer, and had plenty, some new in with extra terminal nut hardware as well...(many batteries they sell in bulk quantities have spare hardware kits. I also save my spare hardware kits in my tool box for just such an emergency.
