In a conversation I was asked "How do you know if a battery is the original battery if you bought a vehicle used"
The answer to that is look at the battery and usually if it has a punch out tag on it that shows the month and year of the battery, it has been replaced. Factory batteries generally do not have the punch out tag on them.
If the tag hasn't been punched out to signify the date installed, sometimes you can find a code on the battery that the manufacturer would be able to tell you the approximate year of the battery if you really want to pursue it.
