Baffle Size What does it do ?

If you change from stock with is 1 3/4's i think i read to a 2" what does it do just increase sound or??

Add to top end with larger baffle ?

How much of a loss are we talking? At low end if we go 2"

Back pressure.Hmmm.....how do I say this nicely?Misnomer.There we go.What happens is the larger exhaust slows the exhaust gas speed down until higher in the RPM range moving the efficiency up there.But if your set up runs out of ability to feed in that range you will lose power overall.If your tuning the exhaust you wanna get to optimum speed at the torque peak of your set up.Large exhaust pipes work well with big compression,cam,carb/throttle body,displacement.With stock displacement it's just loud.That's it,nothing more.I haven't time for the details but check this out for some theory.

So it sounds like sticking with stock size baffles is the ticket just find the better sounding Slip on .. thats what i most want something that sounds better not like its being strangled
