Avery island

Well I was't sure where to put this - so I put it here in Softails section (where I ask most of my questions)

SO, I just read where motorcycles are not permitted on Avery Island. My wife and I were wanting to ride down there and visit the place --- I would like to know if anyone has been there and what the deal is with NO Motorcycles?

Thanks Joe --- I googled "avery island" and read a few reviews. one said NO mc's permitted. and that there was a toll bridge to enter. I will call them for sure -- thanks for the number. DID you go there last year? If so, what to see and do while we are there.

No toll that I know of. They have a factory tour. Takes about 10 minutes, a store to get your tourist stuff and products they sell and the Jungle Garden. Some nice areas in there but be careful, the road is dirt around the garden. Not too far away is the Cypress Bayou Casino in Baldwin. Have eaten there twice and both times were good.

If my memory is still working I think Avery Island was closed to MC traffic up untill about 9 or 10 years ago. Since then it was opened to MC, and as far as I remember (memory thing again) no tolls.
