This off of a 75 shovel a buddy and I picked up for a "project". After a few days of him beating -- I mean riding it -- it started to clunk when kicked over. We pulled it apart and the pinion gear fell out. We haven't split the cases yet, but I'm guessing the bearing or the part of the case that accepts the bearing is worn. Anyone seen this before?
