air filter center emblem

I am looking for the center cap on the airfilter for a 2003 flhtpi if anyone knows were I can get one from. Or has anyone had success in removing theres with out damaging it so it could be reused.

You can remove the emblem if that's what you are trying to do without damaging it. I heated the air cleaner cover and then very easily coaxed it off and there was no damage to the cover or the emblem.

did you just use a heat gun or a hair dryer as it doesnt get as hot?

Either will work but the hair dryer takes longer. Then use a paint thinner but don't rub it hard, just wet it and dissolve the gum that is left.

If you take the cover off the bike you will find heating it a bit easier IMO, and then you can use either some Goo Gone Cleaners | or chrome polish on the adhesive

Lighter fluid takes the glue residue off easily also. But don't light it.
