If you have a old wheel spoke laying around you can make a tool, just give it a few bends and mark the one part off in 1/8'' marks with a small grinder, I use it all the time, fits right inside the primary under the chain and makes adjustments easy, don't know if anyone sells them but easy enough to make.

Ill get out in the shed and start bending a bit of wire as soon as the weather clears

I cheated, I installed an after market HB125 automatic hydraulic primary chain adjuster.

I think that I paid $100. for it. I am very happy with the way it works. I find you really notice the benifit in a parking lot or slow traffic where you are on the clutch and throttle a lot.

Glider posted this a while back...put the picture on a copier...size to measure proper distance and make the tool out of metal sheet.

I cheated too and put on a HB125. After 25 years and 85000 miles the old one was worn. The HB125 is working good so far - Bob

I have the Hayden M6 version on my bikes. As stuff wears, there are shims to add under the springs. Haven't had to do that though.
