Adjustment nut stripped for primary chain shoe

Hi,
went to to the 5k service on my 04 RK and fond that the 9/16" nut that holds the promary chain adjustment shoe is stripped (rounded off)

I did purchase the Lisle Amazon.com: Lisle 19250 Stuck Bolt, Nut and Stud Remover Set: Automotive and it probably would work great but the 9/16" nut has a sholder at the top so the socket will not fit?

Has anyone run into this problem and if so how did you get it off (hopefully w/o having to remove the primary chain cover and chain.

TIA,
John

John, A 6 point socket will slip also? That would have to be 1 rounded off bolt for a 6 point to slip.

Try a 14 mm 6 point socket drive it on with an extension, whack it hard the impacting vibration should help:D

Do you think one of those impact drivers would help? I have one that you tap with a hammer. I guess it gives a small movement quckly and I have used it several times on a stuck bolt. Just a thought.
