Adhesive on Windshield

What is safe to remove adhesive from a windshield? Lighter fluid? I have a state park sticker that has to be on the lower right of the windshield. When I remove it, there is adhesive left on the windshield.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Try a hair dryer on high heat.
A heat gun will also work but be careful not to overheat the shield.
Don't scrape at the windshield with anything! Not even your fingernail.

WD40 works to soften adhesive and if paper backed decal, permeates the paper making the sticker easier to remove.

NewHD74Fan is correct on the WD40. Soak a paper towel with the WD and lay it on the sticky residue leaving it to soak for several minutes. The remaining residue will wipe off! :cheers

There's also the "magical" Goo Gone. Works well if you leave it sit a bit to soak into the adhesive.

When you are done a little novus polish wouldnt hurt

You can put a layer of non-abrasive hand cleaner on the goo, and let it set. It will soften it up. As was said before, do not scrape it with ANYTHING!!!
