97 roadking wont start ticking

i have a 97 roadking wont start and is making a ticking noise. I understand I need to test the battery, if it is not that i guess the sylinoid?? and i will just have to replace that?? is that correct??? also is there anything else???

Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight.

Have you checked the solenoid for problems?

i just took the cover off and tried to push the button to see but nothing.

now when i push start this it runs great. so i am really unsure now???
