clutch cable goes slack when cruising at any particular gear. Can't seem to find the problem nor answer from dealership. Shifts fine,,,till cruising. Lever acts as though cable snaped. Then the ride back home,,,,well you know,,always a treat! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm. Does not sound good. You did not include any details about the bike you are riding except that you are riding a 4 speed tranny and your profile indicates an HD custom/other models. So I suggest that you visit the Self Help forums that Glider has kindly set up for us and check out the procedures for adjusting the clutch. If after that you still have a lot of slack in your clutch cable, it has probably stretched over the years beyond useable limit, and will need to be replaced. Here are the self help files:

Transmission,Clutch and Primary - Harley Davidson Community

Let us know how you make out and what you found after adjustment. At that point, it may be more apparent what the problem(s) is.

TQ
