3-4 Day Spring Trip Leaving Albany NY

Hi All-
I'm already thinking of Spring Road trips (especially with all the ice we have been getting up here these days). Does any one have any good tips for where to go for a spring trip. We took an incredible Fall trip to Vermont, but are looking to possibly go West or South to warmer weather in the Spring. Any idea's/ scenic routes would be appreciated! There are a couple of roads that run down through George Washington and the Monongahela national forest in VA, WV. Really some pretty scenery get to the bottom of the state any you can go through the other forest or jump on the big road and boggie back home. Find Cold Springs, Warm Springs and Hot Springs WV. That is an interesting little jaunt.
