i had my heritage hooked up to trickle charger all winter. took it off charger and rode to and from work for 2 days and then on third day battery doesn't have enough of a charge to start the bike. did not have it plugged back in for those 2 days. any ideas what may cause this?

Yours sounds like a bad battery,
I'm replacing mine before it gets to the point it won't retain amperage.

How old is the battery? Try a load test, but like Joel said it sounds like it’s bad.

Agree with Joel and Jeff about the battery, what rate does your charger, charge. A trickle charger should charge at no more than 2 amps per hour and if left on all the time may overcharge to battery leading to shorted cells. You should use a maintainer with smart circuitry which will only charge the battery when needed if you leave it on all the time.
