... with my hand off the throttle and immediately after letting the fuel pump 'prime' for a few seconds, when I hit the starter button, I get a loud 'pop', almost like a backfire, when she starts. She runs great but I only have 200 miles on her and am wondering if this goes away with breaking in?

What you are hearing all the 96 engines do it. Nothing you can do about it other than changing the compensator to the different design.

my 09 SG does the same thing... I did not think much about it until I read this post... Time to spend more money???
