'06-xl Intermittent speedo,check engine light

Hey,
New here, hows everyone. I have an 06 883 converted to 1200,SEII exhuast. Approx. 10k miles. Speedo on occasion just stops,odometer stops,tripo stops. Just started recently. Now just today check engine light on.:17:

Any thoughts

thanks for the help, i got code P0501, vsscarb. i read the other post and will clean it. no funds for a new one yet. again thanks
 
Some times the cleaning works for a short period and sometimes it doesn't work and the VSS must be replaced.

I pulled it and no metal shavings at all, i wiped it off and reinstalled. Doing a midnight run thru DC tomorrow night. If the light comes on again i'll have to get a new one. Luckily, it has a disconnect right on the unit itself. Thanks again.
