This may also help. They talk about using a breakout box, but instead just use a DVM and backprobe the TPS connector (gray/violet wire) or go directly to pin 30 of the ECM.
I have never worked on a MM induction body, but it sounds like your adjusting the rest position set screw for the butterfly stop so just make sure the idle speed control actuator is not choking your adjustment off early...
